  1. I finished “The Thirteenth Tale” by Diane Setterfield on June 16th, as it was for my face-to-face book group that month. I’m counting it, as per the “updated” rules. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. I finished four books this week from my list! And all of them lived up to their raves….For Whom the Bell Tolls…Sundays in America…My Mistress’s Sparrow is Dead…The Age of Gold….

I spent several hours yesterday looking over lists of great books and my TBR. I ended up completely revising my list of books I want to read. This should be a very good list for me!

  3. I just finished The Thirteenth Tale and can’t believe that I waited so long to read it. It was just as good as everyone has raved!.

As of August 24, 2008, I’ve read 4 out of my 73 books — “The Thirteenth Tale” / “Twilight” / “New Moon” / and “Eclipse” (can’t wait to read “Breaking Dawn”!). ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. As of September 6, 2008:
Merina Lewycka: A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian – 4 stars
Rebecca Wells: Little Altars Everywhere – 2 stars
Sue Monk Kidd: The Secret Life of Bees – 3 stars
Mitch Albom: Tuesdays with Morrie – just started

  6. During the weekend, I read The Book Thief. Great book and also my first book for this challenge. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m not officially in this challenge, but I always keep a list of “to-read” books, a number of which are classics (or are recent but raved about). This year I have finally read The Color Purple, Kite Runner, and The God of Small Things, among others. I’m halfway through the most excellent Godel, Escher, Bach, as well. I would highly recommend Kite Runner and God of Small Things.
